ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 29, 2005

6:45 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Paula Keefe, Ellen Abelson, Richard

                  Gorden  and Mark Mazur.  Several taxpayers attended part of the meeting

                  and participated in the discussions.

1.  The Board reviewed options for the fiscal 2006 tax rate recapitulation form and the

     fiscal 2006 tax rate.  Key components of the tax rate recapitulation form, the overlay

     reserve and estimated receipts were examined in great detail.  The Board discussed

     what excess levy capacity would be generated by the various tax rate options.  The

     impact of their decisions on free cash and taxpayers was also discussed.

2.  The Board approved a tax rate of $15.11 for fiscal 2006 and signed the fiscal 2006

     recapitulation form.  The Board agreed to meet with the Selectmen to discuss the

     fiscal 2006 tax rate and related matters.

3.  The Administrative Assessor reported to the Board about what had transpired at the

     9/27/05 classification hearing.

4.  The Board read a newspaper article about the beginning of our town-wide data re-

     inspection project.

5.  The Board re-appointed Anne Carney and Paul Keefe as Deputy Assessors. These

     positions are unpaid and advisory in nature.
